Farscape Project??

Postby RinnicBob on Tue Feb 14, 2006 9:32 pm

I recently read this post over at terrafirmascapers:

I would caution you all not to get too excited, since there are no details added as to just what this "project" is. But, it sounds pretty good to me.

Pay attention to who sat on the panel:

The second and last panel I attended Friday was the "Mirrormask DVD panel. Executive Producer Michael R. Polis (with the Jim Henson Company) and Rob Valoy (with Tokyo Pop, an anime/manga producing company) helmed the stage for this panel.

Michael R. Polis is the Senior VP of Marketing with the JHC. He wouldn't have made this comment without very careful thought and it warms the cockles of my heart to know that the people who really matter (JHC who own the franchise)are moving ahead with more Farscape.

The biggest news the gentlemen brought to the table was the announcement of ... the "Farscape" project the Henson Co. is currently working on.

Nothing is set in stone - but knowing what a fabulous visual feast that MirrorMask was - I think the Farscape would translate very well to that medium. Very well.
God, I love science fiction!

If a senior member of JHC mentioned it in public, either he's getting severely told off for saying something he shouldn't ( ) or he deliberately said it, and there is something at least fairly solid behind it. Senior marketing VPs don't say stuff like that just for something to say.

I'm not going to start getting excited just yet, though! I'll wait until I hear something more concrete before I work myself into a frenzy of anticipation.
