The Mini in Canada??

Postby datsdewody on Mon Jun 07, 2004 9:12 pm

The channel I watch Farscape on is the Space channel and so far it seems that they have no plans for the mini series at all..

that makes me sad :(

but hey! There's always satellite!

I emailed space about this because I too was wondering when the ads to promote the mini would come on. They emailed me back saying that " they didn't own the rights to the mini". I suggest emailing space and showing your support for the mini otherwise us Canadians might never see it.

Mini series in Canada!

Postby BobaSett on Fri Jul 09, 2004 9:38 am

Like many others living in Canada I watch Space for my Farscape fix, and the other day after Farscape in a "Hypaspace" news broadcast Jonathan Llyr did say that Space does have plans to try to get the Mini series. There was no mention as to a date.

And yes there are other Canadian Fans

hey, :)

I emailed Space and they told me (yay they actually replied) that they didn't own the rights to the mini

arrgh it's really frustrating with the Scifi network only being in the US

I've checked satellite and cable providers for us canadians and so far NONE of them have the Scifi channel

ya know, like Bell Express Vu and Rogers Digital Cable and Star Choice, the whole shebang

I just feel REALLY helpless

I went to the Spacecast.com forums and the scapers there are all in a tizzy as well

I hope the Space dudes can do it, it would be terrible for us Canadians to be getting all excited about the mini, then wait and wait as the people in the US watch the mini, then it's aired in the UK, and we're still waiting and waiting

ARRGH

...think happy thoughts like bunnies and little curly haired angel dudes playing harps

I'm going to go watch the Wear Sunscreen video, it always makes me happy :)

Mini series in Canada!

Postby BobaSett on Wed Jul 21, 2004 2:58 am

In one of a few e-mails to Space I asked them: "If Space does not currently own the rights to the FARSCAPE miniseries are there plans to acquire the rights? If not who may I contact to address this issue."

They responded with this: "The appropriate parties are looking into this, but we do not own the rights to this miniseries at this time."

So unfortunately no new information.

Like many others I will keep trying.

On Space's site under their FAQ's they do say that they'll be airing mini in spring 2005.

Just a quick update:

Space will be airing PK Wars again.

Part 1 on June 19 at 8:00 p.m. EST and Part 2 on June 26 at 8:00 p.m. EST.

If you know any Canadians make sure they have their eyeballs peeled - every little bit helps. :D

Can't the Canadians just watch it on DVD? I mean, it's available for purchase, right?

Of course. And I have it on DVD.

But if you want more Farscape it might be an idea to watch the show when it is aired (especially on a cable channel) to demonstrate an ongoing interest in the series by the viewing public.

This is why I intended to watch Farscape when it appears in syndication on my cable channels this fall. Every single set of eyeballs help. :)
