The webmaster would like to thank...
This very website took a long time to create, from the planning stages to what you see on your screen now, but the site would not have been possible (or probably not as good) without all the people listed below. Boy, this is like some award ceremony acceptance speech! These are the people I wish to thank...
Firstly I would like to give a huge thank you to Mary Wood, for without her input this site would not be as good as (we hope!) it is today. Thankfully she was one of the people who responded to my request for help from the US after only seeing the preview section of the site, and she has become an invaluable member of the staff since she wrote her first words on this site. Did you know that the multimedia section would not exist were it not for her input? She puts a lot of effort into all her work, and it doesn't go unnoticed. Oh, and with the tragic events of September 11th 2001, there's one thing I couldn't have done without her, and she knows how grateful I am.
Next up a very special "thank you" goes out to Ben Browder. His kind words about the site are very much appreciated by both myself and Mary, and I want to extend my personal thanks to him for playing guinea pig and letting us be the first fan-site to interview him (and in turn being the first person we've interviewed for the site). He was full of ideas, and he's just a star. I am proud to consider him a friend. Cheers Ben!
I also want to extend special thanks to Angie, Linda and Cyn, the forum mods, who have been so nice and so supportive through it all. Angie and Linda helped behind the scenes when the site was unexpectedly deleted in 2002, and I will never forget their help.
Also, big, uber-thanks to Lee Binding (from Contender), Corey Henson (from ADV), Rob Vaux (from AEG), Paul Simpson (Author) and Martin Eden (Magazine Editor) who have all graciously helped and supported the site at various times, and still do. I appreciate their input and help with getting even more information to pass on to our readers.
More extra-special hugs and thanks go out to PA Jean, for all her help and for being really accommodating and friendly during a stressful time, and Lani Tupu for being gracious enough to let us sit down and interview him at Burbank 2002. It was an amazing (if a little intimidating) experience and I am ever so grateful.
Of course, I must also thank Rockne O'Bannon, Brian Henson, David Kemper, the writers (Froon!) and the entire crew of Farscape, for without them there would be no show to watch every week, and had it not been for the three people mentioned, the show would never have been made in the first place. They put in extreme amounts of effort, and deserve a big hug!
Then there's the cast of the show, who light up our screens, encapsulating the characters they portray perfectly. Their enthusiasm and belief in the show is what makes me (and many others) enjoy the show more than any other.
Special thanks to Raelee Hill, who was so kind, talkative and sweet to me in Burbank, and really made my day (as just about everyone knows by now!). Ricky Manning (Froon!) and FrCh, who were both lovely to talk to and are great people. Also Gigi Edgley who, likewise, was wonderful to meet and was really bubbly and friendly, and the aforementioned Lani Tupu.
The Jim Henson Company for being very courteous and kind in all my contact with them.
Those at the Sci Fi Channel who have supported the site and helped us with various information and interviews. While everyone feels anger towards the network, myself included, there are truly some fans of the show there, and they have been very helpful to us.
Thanks also to all those who I haven't mentioned already who I talk with regularly, and who I am proud to have as friends. Some name-dropping: SorlkLewis, Maayan, Deneba, Fialka, Froon, Tiriel, Cofax, Thinkum, the whole Oz crew (who are all so wonderful) and everyone else in the UK chat room who puts up with me. Those of you I have met, in particular, couldn't have been nicer and I hope we get to meet face-to-face again soon!
Everyone from The Unofficial UK Board (LJ, Angie, Linda, Dan, Adam, David, Ellie, Becka, JJ, Maria, PJ, Meg and everyone else whose names escape me...) for all your support and friendship (especially when I saw you all at Wolf – I was nervous), it's really appreciated. In particular major thanks to Adam and Cat for their help with some of the season 3 episodes, David for writing the DVD review, and Dan for suggesting the name of the site.
To everyone at SaveFarscape.com for all their work and dedication during this campaign. Lord knows, they deserve huge thanks.
Also to all those people who then visited the preview section once I posted the URL on the SciFi Board.
I also want to thank all those who have signed up at the Farscape World Forums, particularly those who registered quickly and those who post regularly. Your support for the site has been great, and we appreciate every last bit of it.
Dallascaper for helping me find out how to do something with the video clips, back when we were able to carry them.
All the people that contacted me with regards to helping with the site.
I guess I should also thank the SciFi Channel for commissioning the series in the first place – without them, we'd probably have never seen Farscape in the first place (shame about the new guys), and the BBC and SciFi UK who do a good job showing it in the UK.
And last but not least every one of you out there who come and visit the site, read all of our articles and interact with us (be it by voting in the polls, e-mailing us or whatever). We really appreciate it and without you there would be absolutely no point in doing this site. When I conceived of the site, I always wanted it to become fairly popular, but I never expected we'd become as popular as we have, and it wouldn't have been possible without all of you.
Keep trying to save the show – the fight isn't over yet!
