EM.TV set to sell a stake in Henson but retain control
by Dani Moure - Tuesday, December 24th 2002

Category: Old News

Reuters is reporting today that EM.TV are set to sell a 49.9% stake in The Jim Henson Company (owners of Farscape, for the unaware) to an investment group fronted by former CEO of UPN and President of Disney/Touchstone Network Television Dean Valentine and Europlay Capital Partners as part of their debt reduction plan.

The transaction is expected to close in January 2003, though the contract terms have yet to be released. Currently Henson Co. is fully owned by EM.TV.

They have been attempting to sell the company for a while, with various potential bidders popping up, including in recent weeks, business entrepreneur Haim Saiban and also Disney.
