After almost three years since the
The Peacekeeper Wars mini-series graced TV screens, Sci Fi have ordered a series of 10 original webisodes for it's
Sci Fi Pulse broadband video site.
From the
press release:
FARSCAPE WEB SERIES
It's the return everyone's been frelling waiting for! SCIFI.COM has ordered a 10-part webisode series based on the multi-award-winning Farscape, the fan and critical darling that has been widely recognized as one of the greatest sci-fi series in television history. Executive produced by Brian Henson and Robert Halmi, Jr., and produced by The Jim Henson Company, in association with RHI Entertainment, the series will revive and expand the beloved Farscape universe.
According to
Broadcast Newsroom executive vice president and general manager David Howe has said some of the show's original cast will appear in the webisodes.
In an interview with
IF Magazine, Howe said in response to being asked if the original cast would be returning, "We don’t know. Literally, we closed the deal yeaterday, so we haven’t gotten into any of the creative conversations about casting, or story; all of that is yet to come. It is based on Farscape so it will involve the characters from the series, but we don’t know who or what."
There's also a piece on the story at
The Hollywood Reporter,
Mania News and, of course,
Sci Fi Wire.
Not a bad piece of news to be the first update in over a year! And just so you don't all think I'm ignoring things completely, I have become aware of the problems with page displays (seems to be due to a server move by our hosts) and will be looking to fix it as soon as I can.
