As a reminder for anyone who has forgotten, the mini-series Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars
gets its UK premiere tonight at 9pm
on Sky One
! The mini-series will conclude next Sunday, January 23 at 9.10pm. It will also be repeated several times over the next two weeks (see our UK Television schedule
for a complete rundown).
While some were disappointed that the BBC were unable to pick up
the rights to the mini-series, it is certainly receiving a new lease of life, and a bit of attention, with its debut on Sky One. Since they are treating it as a full-on mini-series (whereas the BBC would likely... not have), it has received several ad spots (both short and longer versions) during key genre shows such as the very popular Battlestar Galactica
, Stargate SG-1
and Stargate Atlantis
, as well as during other prime-time shows including the premieres of new seasons of hits Cold Case
and Las Vegas
. It will also have the benefit of being led in by a special preview of season four of 24
for its conclusion next week.
In addition, it has received attention from the UK TV press, with it being included as a highlight and reviewed in several TV magazines, including those that come with national newspapers. It will be interesting to see how it fairs in the ratings.
The Peacekeeper Wars
will be available in a two-disc DVD Box Set
on February 24 in the UK from Contender Video, and will receive its terrestrial television premiere from Five
, who have the rights from January 2006
