Five confirm UK terrestrial rights to The Peacekeeper Wars
by Dani Moure - Thursday, December 9th 2004

Category: The Peacekeeper Wars

As originally posted last month, the BBC decided not to pick up the rights to the mini-series Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars as bidding had gone too high, thanks to a joint bid from Sky One and another UK terrestrial broadcaster (these five channels are the UK equivalent to the major US networks).

Since that announcement, it's been widely speculated as to whether it would be Channel 4 or Five that had picked up the terrestrial rights to the mini-series. Today, Five confirmed to us that they have the terrestrial rights to Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, however their rights do not begin until January 2006, so unfortunately we won't be seeing the mini-series on terrestrial TV until then.

In the mean time, Sky One will give the mini-series its UK premiere, with Night One airing January 16 at 9pm and Night Two airing the following Sunday January 23 at 9pm.
