Joe Nazarro's new book The Creatures of Farscape: Behind the Scenes at Jim Henson's Creature Shop
is available now in the UK and Europe (with an MSRP of £24.99), although copies are a little hard to come by at this stage. Joe was kind enough to drop us some info on the book which we have for you below.
First, the book is set for publication in the US, but not for a few months yet. Fortunately, Joe has a number of copies which he had sent over from the printers (at no cheap shipping costs!), including some copies which have been signed by Farscape's creator, writer and executive producer Rockne O'Bannon. For fans in the US who want the book now, Joe is offering copies for sale direct from him for $45, which includes shipping. If you'd like a copy, you can send the order to Joe Nazzaro, 2 Duke Court, Park Ridge, NJ 07656 and make checks/MOs out to him. He will be going to the UK for promotion and the holidays on December 20, so please contact him before then if you're looking for a copy before Christmas. If you need to, you can keep up to date in the New Farscape Book
thread on the forums, from which you can contact Joe direct via e-mail or Private Message.
You can also order the book from Amazon UK
In addition, the chapter on the mini-series The Peacekeeper Wars
had to be removed at the last minute due to the lack of actor clearances from Henson. In light of this, Joe will be including the text from the book (on which he owns the copyright) with the copies of the book he sells. The chapter runs about 4000 words.
For those that don't buy direct, he has managed to convince his editor at Starburst magazine
to publish the chapter, albeit with a slightly different layout, in the upcoming Yearbook #67 (due out in a week or two). Once it goes off sale, Joe will be offering the text for download on a few Farscape sites (like this one).
You can find more information in the New Farscape Book
topic on the forums, in which Joe has been kind enough to contribute. Many thanks to Joe for the information.
