[Sandworm]

No-one ad noticed, but Sandworm had slipped off to go shark-hunting

He found it quickly, shouting "here fishy fishy"
(*Why did that work?* he wondered.), but he quickly found that even he could not hope to keep up with it. Plus it was wet. just a little.

Disappointed, he turned back and returned to Drum's room

[Kayde]

"Well, I guess we have no choice but to get the shark to trade back with Kara." Kay said. "I wonder what the reasoning was for the shark to want to trade places with Kara for anyway?"

Drum mused for a moment, and then said, "well, maybe there is more to the shark than just shark meat, so to speak."

"That's it!" Rae said, punching Drum's arm. "The shark is just the cover. Someone, or something needed to get into our world and used Kara for the transformation."

"So, what you are saying, is that to get Kara back, we have to not only catch the shark, but convince it, that it doesn't really want to be here so would it please go back home?" Ragnar asked, running the last part of the sentence all in one with a tad of sarcasm.

[Drumheller]

"I don't know Rae." Drum said, rubbing his arm. "Maybe the shark is actually a part of Kara. Think about it, everybody here in the mansion has something unique about them. No matter how 'normal' they seem, we all have some kind of unique talent."

Drum began to pace back and forth. "Or maybe......" He paused for effect then turn and pointed at Kara's image. "Kara is a WERESHARK!"

Kara stood there glaring back at Drum with a look that could melt steel.

"Or maybe not." Drum shrugged. "But wouldn't that be cool! I've always wanted to meet a wereshark."

"Drum!" Rae snapped. "Focus please!"

"Oh...right."

"Look." Ragnar said. "Whatever the deal is, our first priority is to catch the thing. Any ideas on how to do that?"

[Sandworm]

(lol. a wereshark?)
"I have a suggestion," said Sandworm, "How about we go and look for it. If we split into pairs, and first seal off the area, close doors and windows so it can't get away - I don't think Shark flippers will be much good for undoing latches - and then we can close in on it. What do you think?"

[RagnarRB]

"I wonder how it survives out of the water?" Ragnar mused. He shrugged. "Sand has a good plan the only problem I see is that so much of the mansion is rough caverns and unexplored. There are all kinds of spots it can slip into."

"We have to start somewhere." Rae endorsed. "At least every room we close off is one we 'think' it isn't in."

Rag nodded. It was indeed a start.

If they only knew what it wanted.

[KaraS]

The shark was listening to the Scoobies plot. She grinned her scary shark grin. So, they thought they were going to catch HER? A VolcanoShark will not be caught unless she wants to be caught.

She floated above the floor. Perhaps they didn't know that VolcanoSharks can fly. And melt through solid rock. After all, in their natural environment, they swim in molten lava.

The shark grinned wider. So, they want to play hide-and-seek. Ok, lets play...

[Sandworm]

"Right, people. How are we going to catch this thing?" asked Sandworm.
I mean, there's no point in going and trying to find it until we come up with a plan of actually capturing it. because if I can't keep up with it, no offence, but the rest of you might have slight problems. And this mansion is a huge huge maze of tunnels. So how do you catch a lava shark? anyone know? Kara maybe?" (I hope she lipreads)

[RagnarRB]

Well, if she didn't lip read before she was learning fast by necessity. Unfortunately all she could do was shrug at Sandworms question. This one was quite a puzzler.

"Can any of you magical types teleport it here or rather to aplace of our choosing?"

[Sandworm]

"No way, that won't work, it's bound to be magic resistant" said Sandworm.
"The only magical way to stop it would be to conjure a barrier or net of some kind."

[Kayde]

"I bet there are nets down in that cave I saw the other day. It's down that hall there!" Kay said.

Ragnar looked at Kay. "Good idea. The shark may need to re-group near water anyway. Let's go."

The Scoobs started in the direction Kay pointed.

[KaraS]

As the Scoobs trooped down towards the cave where Kay saw the nets, they didn't realize that the Shark was following them...

[RagnarRB]

Originally the trap was set for Ragnar, Kitten being quite bored these days, but this new red fishy, now that was interesting!

She let her human pets pass beneith and waited for more tasty prey! She'd never caught a big fish before!

None of the Scoobs saw the net drop[ on the shark but they heard Kitten's victory cry!

[KaraS]

But Kitten's cry of victory was short lived because the Shark burned right through the net.

The Scoobs came pounding back up the tunnel to see the Shark hovering in the middle of the hallway with the chard remains of the net on the floor.

With a flick of her tail, the Shark turned and shot back up the corridor.

[Sandworm]

"Great," said Sandworm, "perhaps this is not such a dumb animal after all."

[RagnarRB]

Kitten watched the retreating shark as well. This wasn't right. Her meal was running away!

She dropped from her hiding place and launched herself in hot persuit. The shark had a very distinctive smell, it was easy to follow.
