Sikuzu's hair! Ahh!

This forum is specifically to discuss anything to do with the story of the mini-series. <b>This forum contains SPOILERS!</b>

The UK DVD features deleted scenes - many ofwhich are Sikozu ones.

After what we see of her + Grunchlk at the end of the mini, that scene is actually longer than shown.

Grunchlk looks at her and say
'Isn't it splendid when new alliances forge themselves' (paraphrasing)
Sikozu looks up at him and grins.

It lasts maybe 10 seconds... but proves there is more of their story to come.

If I may, I wrote a Sparky winning fic continuing their story...

and its sequel,

But that's hardly a "scene" that would establish their survival, is it (as much as I loved Grunchlik's character)?

It establishes that their story is not done - hence survival.

Why create a scene that so obviously sets them up for further events when they are to die?
It makes no sense.

Besides, in the original script, Sikozu was NOT the spy - she left with Scorpius - so she was never intended to be a fatality anyway.

Yes, THAT was a stupid thing to do. of all the characters that could have been spying, the choice of Sikozu was just idiotic. Her entire reason for being was to kill Scarrans, after all!

Bloody annoying and astoundingly arrogant, yes. But a traitor? Nope.

I liked her hair longer but for the character it was fine she was trying to blend in.

Traitor?

Sikozu had no loyalty to the Peacekeepers. She was Kalish. Her whole function was to gain freedom for the Kalish. When Scorpy proved not to be the route whereby her people would gain freedom she ditched him.

So does that make her a traitor? Not on your life. She was only his ally - and only his ally as long as he served her purpose.

In PK Wars, Sikozu was getting increasingly desperate that the best opportunity in arns was slipping through her fingers and the Kalish were not any closer to freedom than they had been before. So she made a desperate gamble. She gambled that the Scarrans would want Crichton so much that they would be willing to give her anything she wanted. And we know what she wanted.

Sikozu did not have any reason to be loyal to the Peacekeepers. She didn't have any reason to be loyal to the Moyans. But she did - and never made any attempt to conceal it - have every reason to be loyal to the Kalish.

So yeah. Sikozu could well be a 'traitor' through Scorpy's eyes. And through the eyes of the Moyans. But Sikozu was never one of them - no matter what they thought. She was always Kalish.

(Mind you - she must have been terribly desperate if she thought that the Scarrans would live up to any bargain they made with her.)
