Thanks everybody--biopsy was negastive for Cancer--that's the good news. The bad news is they don't know what else is wrong. Another CT scan in two months will see if there are further changes---they might just have sampled the wrong node.

Exodus from Genesus was on an indie station this week---the first time we learned of Sebacean heat delirium. It just occured to me to look up the root word: Sebaceous glands are oil secreting glands of the skin(per Tabor), simple or branched alveolar gklands most of which open into hair follicles . Wonder how the writers decided to call the PKs sebaceans????

Ha Ha--I know! My wife is a veterinarian. She's a casual viewer of FS. She was stunned when she first heard that Aeryn's race were sebaceans. The sebaceous glands are the source of many problems--none of which is pretty--on dogs.

Congratulations on the good news and I'm sorry about the bad news. I've found that worrying about one's children is a particular kind of hell. Doubtless TPTB will make John and Aeryn suffer horribly with worry over their child in any future FarScape.

Hey I'm glad the news was good. I also hope the news is good on the next tests.

Me, unfortunately not. It's too expensive for me, althoug I'd love to be there. It must be and amazing experience. If you are going there, think about all those we can't!!!. And tell Ben Spain and Barcelona also exist in the Farscape Universe.!!!!

Oh I think that whole heat sensitivity thing was a means to get Aeryn Sung half naked in first season. And boy wasn't that a grand scene! :) I can tell you I was sweatin'. :)

Don't know that I'll have much chance to talk to Ben other than the photo op---which lasts about 15 seconds, or maybe the charity breakfast.

But I know that Spain and Barcelona exist. I was in Valencia in April(cruise)--where I visited the LLadro porcelain factory and I've been in Barcelona about four times. A lot of Mediterranean cruises start or end there. You have such interesting architecture including Familia Sagrada which has continued to change each time I go.

One time we were there, my son who has multiple sclerosis got very ill and the people were so gracious and helpful even with my limited Spanish that he was well enough to take the plane the next day as planned.

So gracias to the people of Barcelona. I'm sorry you can't come. Thay are a blast and Ben is such a sweet guy. I'm taking my Furlow costume again(and this year I will remember her wig) and I hope he judges the contest.

As for Sebaceans physiology, it still seems the heat thing serves no benefit(except undressing Claudia) and is instead a hindrance as when the commandos boarding Moya all got weak and woozy.

I'm glad to hear you have been in Barcelona and you liked it. There's lot to see. You almost a month to visi it well.

I'm sad to hear about you son's disease but glad to hear you found lot of help and attention here. I hope he is doing better now.

About the Con, well, I will have to wait and read the different commentaries about it. If I could go there, I would be the first one in meeting Joh. I think as Crichton os as sweet as Ben. I love him, really.

Well, about heat delirium, well, heat is bad for everyone. In summertime, some people die because of the strong high temperatures. So I imagine that if you lack the gland that regulates the internal temperature, must be horrible. And the worst thing is that you are a living death. That's much worse than dying. If you die you stop suffering but in Sebaceans, well, that0s the worst thing that could happen to them.

Too true

We had a very hot spell and despite the city opening cool spots in airconditioned malls, etc several people--mostly elderly or those on psychiatric medicine that affects the temp control-- died again this year.

I have been out in Arizona when it was 124F and you couldn't even touch your car or walk barefoot on the cement.I guess Sebaceans just have a worse problem--and then there is the delirium--though humans with heat stroke may also become delirious--but not for life.

I'll definately be there.

The heat delirium thing shows a difference between them. Aeryn would have problems on Earth. she was willing to get stuck on Earth with him. In the summertime they would have to travel to a different place where it's not so hot right?

They got away from it in season 2&3 but got back to it in season four.

But we do not know wxactly how much heat sebaceans can hold before falling ill. Maybe she can stand summer time heat. At home air conditioning, of course are in the car too. I hope Little D has this gland or is less sensible to the heat than his mother is.

Yeah, I dont think summertime would have been the end of the world for her. The fake Sydney in Season One had an Earth Aussie climate, and she was fine. Also she had no problems in the Florida house in October. Those are some of the warmer spots on Earth, she could always live even further from the equater as well. Besides, as long as she was in airconditioning, she'd be fine anywhere.

Another solution could be that in the Unchartred Territories they find a cure or a remedy or something to soften the effects of heat deliriun. I'm not talking about coolant rods, of course. I'm talking about some kind of skin implant that helps regulate the body temeperature. There must be a solution. It is surprising that Peacekeepers didn't find a solution to that.

They are very advanced techically and medically.
